Full Policy

Monetary Donations

Gifts of money or bequests are welcome as a means of augmenting Library Revenue. Conditional gifts are accepted if the stipulations are acceptable to the Library Board. Although donors may suggest that their funds be used to purchase specific titles or materials in particular subject areas, the Library reserves the right to select titles that will enhance the Library’s collection and meet the criteria of the Materials Selection Policy. The donor will determine whether a gift is given to the Library or the Bartlett Public Library Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization.

You may make a monetary donation online through ePay.

Gift and Memorial Books

Purchasing gift and memorial books are a wonderful and unique way to remember loved ones or to mark special occasions. Civic-minded businesses may also make a contribution to the community by donating to the Library.

With your tax-deductible contribution, the Library will purchase an item in the category you choose. For instance, if the person you are honoring with a memorial book was an avid gardener, the Library will be happy to select a book about gardening for the collection. Acknowledgment of your gift is sent to the individual or to the family of the person being honored. A bookplate imprinted with your name and the name of the person being honored is placed in the book before it goes on the shelf.

Donations through Your Will

The Library accepts gifts to the Library through wills, trusts and legacies.

Book Sale Donations

The Friends of the Bartlett Library Perpetual Book Sale accepts donations of materials. Acceptable donations include clean and undamaged paperback and hard cover books and magazines within eight months of publication date. Also accepted are DVDs, CDs, videogames, puzzles and board games that are clean and complete.

Not accepted are: textbooks; Reader’s Digest Condensed Books; old Magazines; books with yellowed pages, torn covers or without covers; waterlogged or musty material; and books or magazines that have been highlighted or marked with pen or pencil.

Items may be dropped off in the Library lobby seven days a week during our regularly scheduled hours. Stop at the Circulation Desk if you would like a tax receipt for your donation.
