Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for high quality customer service at the public desks
- Work with patrons to resolve problems with patron accounts
- Assist patrons with technology questions and computer access within the library
- Process library card registrations
- Accept payments for fines and fees
- Answer incoming calls and route calls to other departments
- Retrieve the outdoor book return
- Check in all returned material and process items on hold
- Shelve library material onto carts and throughout the library
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the lobby area of the library
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Customer service experience required and library experience preferred
- Knowledgeable of computers and Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn, adapt, and adopt new technology
- Flexible mindset and team player; willingness to adjust duties or schedule if needed
- Patience and good listening skills, paired with ability to focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be able to shelve books and move heavy book carts by bending, stretching, and maneuvering these objects to access shelving
Pay / Hours
- $14.55/hour
- Part-time, 14.5 hours/week
- Schedule: Every Saturday 11a-4p, every Sunday 11:30a-5p, and every Monday 5p-9p
