Salary: $58,588-$69,293, depending on qualifications

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, with occasional nights and weekends

Position Description

The Bartlett Public Library District is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Circulation Manager. The Circulation Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of the Circulation Department. This position contributes to library-wide planning and policy development and serves as a member of the library’s Management Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Circulation Department, performing any duties for the department as needed.
  • Hire, supervise, train, evaluate, and support department staff.
  • Establish schedules, review time sheets, and ensure appropriate staff coverage.
  • Assist with the development and management of the department budget.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures and workflows.
  • Represent the department at internal and external meetings.
  • Establish standards for customer service, circulation accuracy, timely shelving, and circulation reporting.
  • Ensure daily balancing of cash drawer.
  • Attend monthly board meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of customer service experience and three (3) years of management experience.
  • Experience working in a library, educational, or customer service settings.
  • Proficiency with integrated library systems (ILS) and other library-related technology.
  • Knowledge of current trends in libraries, technology, or community services.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
