Youth Services Librarian
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and implement programs of interest to the community, with a focus on preschool, kindergarten, and outreach
- Provide reference and readers’ advisory assistance
- Participate in the collection development process by maintaining budget, selecting, and weeding materials in assigned areas
- Provide instructions on Library’s digital offerings and e-sources to patrons and staff
- Keep current on age appropriate materials for youth
- Create attractive and interesting displays and bibliographies
- Stay current regarding library technology and trends
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master’s in Library Science
- Experience working with children required
- Library experience in Youth Services preferred
- Ability to work with children in an individual and group setting
- Open-minded and flexible team player
Salary / Classification / Hours
- $22.95-25.48/hour, depending on qualifications
- Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, non-exempt
- Days, evenings, and weekends

Physical Demands / Work Environment
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
