Programs at the Bartlett Public Library District further the mission of the library by providing educational and discovery opportunities to the community. This policy addresses programming developed and sponsored by the library and developed by members of the community and cosponsored by the library.
Library programs are chosen and facilitated by professional library staff. Co-sponsored programs must include involvement by professional library staff in the planning of program.
Bartlett Public Library District provides programming to patrons of all ages and abilities.
The selection of library programs, topics, presenters, and classes are chosen by professional library staff for their:
Presenters are chosen for their proven or unique expertise or talent and public performance experience. Acceptance of a program or topic by the library does not constitute an endorsement of the group's or individual's policies or beliefs.
While Bartlett Public Library District accepts program suggestions from the public, it is up to library staff to determine which programs should be provided. The library is not required to accept all suggestions or work with all individuals or groups who wish to partner on programs.
The Library Director reserves the right to make final decisions regarding programs.
Programs may be canceled for a number of reasons including but not limited to: library closings, severe weather, absence of the presenter, or low registration. Canceled programs are not automatically rescheduled.
Programming practices adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act and the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights.
