VIRTUAL REALITY EQUIPMENT USE POLICY

Purpose:
To enable staff-supervised use of the Virtual Reality ("VR") equipment in the Library. VR equipment is provided to engage technology curious participants and encourage them to discover new technology in our Library by visually exploring, learning, creating and playing in a three-dimensional, software-generated world in a manner consistent with the Library's mission.

Scope:
The staff-supervised use of these VR devices will be in areas that have open floor space for participants to safely use the VR equipment in a controlled environment.

Conditions of Use:

To use the VR equipment, a patron must:
- Have a valid (not expired) Bartlett Public Library District card.
- Be 18 years of age or older; ages 13-17 are permitted with the valid permission of a parent or other legal guardian.
- Agree to and sign the Library's Release, Hold Harmless and Indemnity Agreement (“Release”). Patrons ages 13-17 must agree to the terms of the Library's Release and have the Release agreed to and signed by a parent or other legal guardian.
- VR equipment is only available to patrons during special programming dates.
- VR equipment may only be used in the Library under staff-supervision and cannot be removed from the Library. Removing VR equipment from the Library is considered theft of library property and will be reported to the police.
