Computers, Laptops and iPads

Computers Available in the Library

The library has sixteen (16) computer workstations that require a library card or guest pass to use. Upon login, users will receive one hour of usage with 15 minute time renewals if there is no one else waiting for a computer. The daily maximum usage per library card is four hours. Twelve (12) of these computers are located in the Casual Computing area, and four (4) are in the Youth Services Department.

In addition, there are three (3) 15-minute walk-up stations that do not require a library card. Two are in the Adult Services Department, and one is in the Youth Services Department.

Laptops Available in the Library

There are three (3) laptops available for in-house check out for two hours. They can be checked out with a library card and government-issued ID at either the Circulation Desk or the Youth Services Desk.

For patrons who require a device when all workstations are currently in use, the library also has seven (7) laptops available. These laptops require both a library card or guest pass, and a government-issued ID to use. Note that these laptops combine the policies and limitations of both the workstations and in-house use laptops. Specifically, they must be used within the library premises only. The hourly usage rules and the potential for 15-minute extensions apply, similar to the workstations, as long as no one else is waiting to use a device. These laptops are available for library programs.

iPads Available in the Library

Four (4) iPads are available in the Youth Services Department to check out for two hours, to use within the library. They are loaded with educational software for preschoolers, and games for older children. These can be checked out at the Youth Services Desk.
