How To: Change Line Spacing
Microsoft Office: Adjusting the Line Spacing Within a Paragraph
- Select all of the paragraphs that you would like to change the line spacing of.
- Right click the selection, and click Paragraph.
- Under the Spacing category, use the dropdown under Line spacing to choose an option; most commonly, Single for a tighter look or Double for a looser spacing. You can also choose Multiple to set a custom measurement in the At field.
Microsoft Office: Adjusting the Spacing Before or After a Paragraph
- Select all of the paragraphs that you would like to change the space before or after of.
- Right click the selection, and click Paragraph.
- Under the Spacing category, increase or decrease the measurements in the Before and After subcategories. Most commonly, Before should be set to 0 pt and After should be set to a measurement of your choosing (the higher the number the more space between paragraphs).
