Who can get a Bartlett Library Card?
You are eligible if you live within the Bartlett Public Library District Boundaries.
No age restrictions — all residents at the address may have a card.
Resident cards are valid for 3 years.
Cards are not transferable
The cardholder is responsible for all fines, lost, or damaged materials.

A photo ID
Document showing current address
Accepted Documents include:
Government issued ID
Driver’s license
Utility Bill
Rental agreement or mortgage papers
Vehicle or homeowner’s insurance document
Teens
Grades 7 & up may use a school report card
Ages 16-18 may apply with a government-issued ID
Reciprocal Borrowing Patron
If you have a card from another public library, you may register your home library card at BPLD.
Required:
Your home library card
A valid photo ID
Reciprocal cards are renewed annually and cannot extend beyond your home library card’s expiration date.
Property Owners (Non-Resident)
Eligible if you own property within BPLD boundaries, even if you do not live there.
Required:
A current property tax bill
Another form of ID showing ownership
Only one card per property owner and is only valid for 3 years.
Business Owners (Non-Resident)
Eligible if you own a business located within BPLD boundaries.
Required:
Proof the business is located within BPLD boundaries
A personal business card with your name
An additional form of identification
One card will be issued in the business owner’s name and is only valid for 1 year.
Educator Accounts
Available to schools or educational institutions located within the BLPD boundaries, if one may need to borrow supplemental classroom materials.
Required:
A school administrator’s authorization
A photo ID at checkout
Educator accounts are not issued a physical card and the financial responsibility for the materials belong to the school. In addition to that, the agreement is reciprocal, meaning that the library may also borrow from the educator.
Non-Resident / Unserved Population
You may qualify if ALL these conditions apply:
You do not live within any library districts
You live within U-46 School District boundaries
Bartlett Public Library is the closest library to your residence
If you are a non-resident applying for a card, there will be non-resident annual fee that will be issued that is depending on property value and/or district income and population. If you do qualify, then every household member is eligible for a card.
If you are a non-resident renter, the same eligibility rules as above apply, except the fee calculation differs. It is based on the total library income and the population served. This fee is recalculated each year.

Where do I sign-up for a library card?
All cards are issued at the Circulation Desk, immediately to your left as you enter the library.
I’ve damaged/lost an item or my BPLD card, what do I do?
For damaged items, the borrower must reimburse the Library the cost of the item(s).
If a borrower is unable to locate a lost item, the borrower must reimburse the Library the cost of the item(s).
If your BPLD card is lost/damaged, a replacement card costs $0.50. You’re responsible for all items, fines and fees checked out on your card until its loss is reported.

What is my username and password?
Username: Library Card Barcode
The default password is: Your birth date as a 4 digit combination of your month and year (MMYY). For example, if your birthday is Dec 7, 1984, your password is 1284.
